Credit Card Security Tips
AllBrands.com wants our customers to shop with confidence and we strive to do everything in our power to insure that each purchase with us is secure and safe. Below we want to share 10 tips with you on how to protect yourself from credit card fraud and identity thief.
- Shred all credit card applications you receive in the mail.
- Sign your cards as soon as they arrive.
- Carry your cards separately from your wallet, in a zippered compartment, business card holder or other container.
- Keep a list of all card account numbers and expiration dates, with the phone number and address of each company in a secure place, separate from your cards.
- Save receipts to compare with billing statements. Once you have done so, shred the receipts or store securely. Never throw away unshredded receipts.
- Open your credit card bills promptly and reconcile accounts monthly, just as you do with your checking account.
- Report any questionable charges promptly to the card issuer. You may be required to submit this in writing.
- Notify card companies in writing of a change of address.
- Don't lend you card to anyone or leave cards and/or receipts lying around.
- Don't give your number over the telephone unless you know the company you're giving it to is reputable. Contact the Better Business Bureau if you have any questions about a company before giving your card information.
