Designaknit has created a new cable to connect the Silver Electronic Knitting Machines to your computer using a USB connection, the SilverLink5. No more hassles with the serial port! The USB connection provides a quick and easy connection. This is the way that computers should be!

The little black box: that’s the Smarts! In the continuing effort to increase stability and performance, optional DesignaKnit 7.0 has added memory to the cable. The memory improves DAK’s Interactive Knitting for today’s faster computers.

The SilverLink5 allows Windows 98, 2000 or XP to connect DAK to Silver Electronic Knitting Machines using the USB port on the computer. The SilverLink5 comes with the USB cable to connect from the box to your computer. If you do not have a USB port you can purchase a serial cable from any local computer supply store and connect the SilverLink5 to the serial port, giving you the benefit of the memory.

This is the latest SilverLink, by DesignaKnit. It is version 5. It is used to allow a Silver Reed electronic knitting machine to communicate with your Windows PC.

Using the included SilverLink box, power lead and USB cable, you have the ability to download knitting patterns to the knitting machine.

The SilverLink box is connected via the curly cable which plugs in to the main carriage. (Included with a knitting machine)

The pattern is downloaded to the SilverLink box before beginning to knit and remains in its memory until the next pattern or section of pattern is downloaded. The Silverlink 5 may be powered off without the pattern being lost.

Once a pattern has been downloaded to the box. SilverLink box can hold the pattern data in fact it can store an incredible 16,000 knitting rows of data.!

Intarsia knitting with the AG50 carriage is fully supported.
