I am new to machine knitting so this video was very helpful for me. I watched it from beginning to end and my machine isn't even here yet.
The video is filmed so that you can see each step. The instructor is clear, informative, and easy to follow.
The video walks you through the parts and levers on the knitting machine and what they do, and has examples of different carriages. It shows different ways of casting on, casting off, picking up dropped stitches, tension and tension swatches, increases and decreases.
There aren't any Chapter divisions to choose in the DVD that I could see so you wouldn't be able to go in and just choose the Chapter that speaks to tension unless you have some way of writing down a time marker or something. There is a spot in the recording where it looks like the DVD is over as the screen goes black for more than a couple of seconds. It isn't over until she (the wonderful instructor) says its over. I found the DVD so helpful to me as a newbie, that none of this bothered me at all.
I recommend this DVD to newbies. This was my first purchase from All Brands. The DVD came quickly and was packaged very well - well enough that the damage that Fed Ex did to the shipping box did not damage the DVD. I am very happy with my purchase and All Brands.
