Automatic Thread Trimmer The machine is equipped with an automatic thread trimmer device that simultaneously trims the needle and bobbin threads at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push-button. It uses the thread trimming mechanism.
Even Feed Foot With its reliable feed, the even feed foot ensures the machine's ability to produce beautiful seams when sewing difficult-to-feed fabrics such as georgette and velvets, as well as heavy weight materials such as leather.
Heavy Weight Materials are Sewn with Ease The speed control mechanism, operated by microcomputer, allows the machine to sew materials at low speeds. This provides for accurate feed and perfect stitching when sewing heavy weight fabric, quilting and multiple layers of materials. This is especially useful with detailed quilting, like feathering and stippling. The speed control can be lowered to as slow as 200spm or maxed out at 1500spm.
Predetermined Stop Position of the Needle When you stop sewing, the machine will come to an accurate stop with the needle down. To move the needle up or down as desired, simply press the needle up/down button. An essential feature for quilters, the needle automatically stops in the down position, which prevents your fabric from shifting out of place when pivoting.
Two Types of Quilting Foot/Drop Feed The quilting feet are designed for free motion quilting and free-hand embroidery. The feed dog can be raised and lowered simply by depressing a switch. When quilting, the drop feed allows you to sew curved stitches with ease. No need to install a special darning plate to do free motion quilting. The Juki TL18QVP has a built in lever that, when pressed, automatically lowers the feed dogs so you can quickly switch to free motion quilting.
Knee Lifter Lever The knee lifter level allows you to lift/lower the presser foot without using your hands. The presser foot can be raised as high as 12mm. This is an essential feature for efficient quilting. This allows you to keep both hands on your quilt while using your knee to lift the presser foot; you'll never go back to quilting without one again!
Automatic Needle Threader The push lever automatic needle threader easily threads the needle without eyestrain and allows you to start sewing quickly.
Thread Tension Scale The machine is provided with the thread tension scale, which allows you to adjust the tension according to the thread and material to be used.
Easy Bobbin Replacement A new bobbin case latch and an enlarged bobbin case area make it easier to remove and replace the bobbin.
Adjustment of Presser Foot Pressure Presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the fabric being sewn by turning a regulator located on the top of the machine.
Oiling the Machine
Apply 1 drop of oil to each of the arrow points shown above for every 4 to 8 hours of sewing. Use machine oil (New Defrix Oil No. 1) or similar supplied with the machine.
Note: Some holes in your machine are meant for screws, please do not oil!

With this change, the knob, spring, and mounting base are changed and first thread tension disk fix plate is removed. (There is interchangeability between old and new ASM parts). Please note that thid minor change does NOT affect the stitch quality of the machine.

Sub Tension Unit Even if strongly twisted thread should be used, the unit will avoid "return of twist of thread" and supply needle thread to the main tension unit without thread quivering. It helps sewers create sttiches with stable thread tension. The improved thread tension system intelligently avoids the return of twisted threads, even when using strongly twisted thread, giving you a more stable stitch tension and eliminating "thread quivering".
Float Function (Micro-Lifter):
Now equipped with the same mechanism as JUKI industrial sewing machines for preventing uneven sewing on quilts and velvet, as well as stretched stitches on knit fabrics. The presser foot floats 0 to 2mm above the material making it useful for sewing over thick seams.
Attachment Mounting Plate:
A separate attachment mounting plate for installing fabric guides and other attachments. This extends the life of the sewing machine, as it can now be replaced when the mounting holes become damaged.
LED Sewing Light Brightness Adjustment:
A switch in the needle area allows you to adjust the brightness of the light between high, medium, low, and off.
