  {Q} My problem is when I put the back clamps on the back rail with the elastic on them no matter how thick or thin the quilt is as soon as I out tension on the quilt to stitch, the clamps pop off. Linda

If you ordered a Dream Fabric Frame they are finally starting to ship! Following please find some suggestions for set up: 1. There is a video included in the box on set up of the frame. I would suggest you watch this before setting up the frame. 2. When setting up the frame, the ideal height is going to be for customers to sit down at the frame. If you put a rolling chair that lifts and lowers, customers can adjust the chair to their height. Make sure you can sit in the chair and have a good visual of the needle so you can see the work being done on the fabric. If standing, it is difficult to get a good visual of the needle area. The right height on the frame is going to be a “big deal” to make it comfortable for your customers. 3. Make sure the frame is level. 4. Make sure the bar on the back is adjusted the same on both sides – see below: Adjust it so that the material is not too high from the machine bed (it can cause flagging if too high) 5. When the encoders are installed make sure they roll freely and have contact on the tracks. 6. Don’t forget to clean the tracks of the machine periodically. 7. When sewing if you have problems with the stitch regulator remember that when you sew vertically it is the encoder that rolls vertical on the side. If it is not stitching correctly horizontal then it is the encoder on the back that rolls horizontally. 8. Double check your wire connections (sometimes these can wiggle loose). 9. I suggest putting black fabric on the frame and use a bright thread (variegated is very pretty too). Don’t put too big of a piece of fabric but put one large enough that you can show how easy it is to reposition the fabric. 10. The black straps on the back can be crisscrossed and hooked on the front if fabric is not rolled up in them. You don’t want them hanging down as people use the machine. 11. Have samples that show couching and thread painting. I think a pillow with couching would be a great sample. 12. I also suggest you get some stencils and a pounce pad. Customers are going to be looking for solutions to help them and this appears as an easy solution to make a complicated design.
