About the Designer - Michie' Mooney "I have loved needlework and sewing as long as I can remember! My Mother recognized this passion early and taught me to sew. I was then blessed with a supportive husband who bought a sewing machine for our first Christmas and never complained about my "creative mess"! Sewing then became a necessity to help save money and was my creative outlet while raising three sons and a daughter. In 1996 I began working at "Joy's of Smocking" in Decatur, AL. For the next 7 years I made shop samples, did custom sewing, and taught classes. ...there was not an abundance of sewing patterns on the market for little boy's...I noticed when my own sons were small, there was not an abundance of sewing patterns on the market for little boy's. With the encouragement of the owner, Joyce Moore, I began creating my own sewing patterns and that was the beginning of a new business! "Creations By Michie" was officially launched in 2000. My goal is to create classic patterns that will never go out of style, along with clear instructions that will not intimidate the beginner. Along with continuing to create new patterns, I am also a regular contributor to Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle Magazines, and teach at Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion and local shops.
