Hello Everyone! Just downloaded and played with the new Brother and Baby Lock Design Database Transfer program. This is a FREE program that allows you to transfer your designs wirelessly from your machine if it has the wireless feature! So cool! You can also search for designs, print catalogs of designs and manage your designs with this free program. You need to download the Baby Lock version for the Baby Lock machines or the Brother version for the Brother machines. It hasn’t been obvious from Brother’s marketing, but getting our hands on this machine and talking to the engineers, we’ve learned that Aveneer is not just an evolution of Brother’s previous models, but has been redesigned FROM THE GROUND UP to improve every aspect of this machine, from hardware to software, from major features to minor details, from robustness, strength, and reliability, to many small quality-of-life improvements . For example, the embroidery unit has been totally reinvented to be beefier, more robust, more stable. The large hoop has a brand new metal-reinforced frame and brand new gripping and locking mechanisms to give you the tightest, strongest hold, on even the most delicate of materials. The machine itself has a totally redesigned shaft that is stronger and more reliable. And the software has been rearchitected from the ground up on a totally new operating system that will unlock the potential for Brother’s app ecosystem, while still being familiar to users of previous Brother machines.

The new magnetic sash frame for the XP is only compatible with the Luminaire series. It cannot be used with other models due to the embroidery arm motor specifications. The XP has a stronger motor and can easily handle the weight of that frame. Unfortunately, the V-Series, Stellaire and Dream Machine motors can be damaged over time.

Simply apply sticky backing to the underside of the frame with the sticky side up. The adhesive on the backing holds your project in place while the machine is stitching.

{Q} Why won't my machine recognize the correct size of hoop I Have installed on the machine?
{A} On the rare occasion this issue comes up, the answer is the same. . Durkee EZ Frames have nothing to do with the issue. In fact, the customer should take them off and set them aside to fix the problem. The “A” arm of the machine has multiple positioning locations that, when properly aligned, cause the machine to “recognize” the hoop attached to the arm. In this instance the word “recognize” refers ONLY to the hoops that came with the machine or other OEM hoops from Brother available for that machine. Those positions on the “A” arm are small slots or grooves. In order for the machine to recognize the correct hoop, the left side (adjustable arm that moves left and right) must align perfectly in any given slot and the knob that holds it tightly secured. If these two criteria are not met, the machine “assumes” the next smallest size hoop.
Thus, if the customer will remove any/all hoops or frames from the machine and adjust the “A” arm correctly in the proper slot and tighten the thumbscrew/knob securely, the machine will “think” it has a 7 7/8” x 11 7/8” hoop attached and the problem will be solved. This hoop is usually and inaccurately referred to as a 12 x 8 hoop. Brother identifies this hoop as their “Large” hoop. Because the machine “thinks” it has a 12 x 8 hoop in place is why the customer must ALWAYS center their #1 needle in the middle of the EZ Frame or hoop and trace their design.

Embroidery hoops are indispensable tools for working embroidery. They come in a wide range of sizes, styles and materials, and every company has their own favorite brand. Using a hoop also makes it easier to count the threads when worked a counted thread projects.
Before starting the project, the embroidery fabric is placed in the hoop, pulling it taunt and tightening the outer hoop to hold the fabric into position. This taunt fabric base makes it easier to create well-formed stitches that are evenly spaced and uniform in size, as compared to holding the fabric in the hands without a hoop, which can cause the stitch tension to be too tight or too loose. Your choice of size and shape depends entirely on the project and your preference, however, when selecting a hoop, remember that the fabric must completely fill the hoop in order to keep it tight.
When browsing and buying hoops, you will notice that some hoops tighten and loosen with a thumb screw, while others are tension or spring operated or have sections that snap together without tightening.
Hoops that are tension or spring operated are made from a combination of metal and plastic and have a lip. There are also different material that the hoops can be made out of. Wooden hoops, which can be made from pine, hardwood or bamboo do not have a lip. Metal hoops are durable and will last longer than any other type of hoop.
When using an embroidery hoop the hoop is attached to the stands with either a clamp, or secured in place through the sides of the hoop using wing nuts or thumb screws and now even magnets. No Thumbscrews.

Clear-Glide is a high-tenacity polyester filament bobbin wound on a plastic flanged spool. This bobbin is designed for home sewing (drop-in) machines. Clear-Glide uses the same high quality poly yarn as Magna-Glide and will provide the operator with more stitches per bobbin which results in fewer bobbin changes.
