Customers will experience "Kokochi" when using new, state-of-the-art features found on the large LCD screen like touch and swipe capabilities, on-screen editing, one-touch button to lower feed dogs, and exclusive JUKI Sewing Net.

Touchscreen editing
The touchscreen on the DX-4000QVP allows you to easily edit the stitch design, needle position, and thread tension, lift or lower the presser foot, and turn thread trimming on or off.
This machine features new built-in stitches not included on previous models. Simply touch a stitch on the touchscreen to bring up that category of stitches. Then swipe to the left or right to browse other stitch categories. You can scroll through the different stitches simply by swiping up or down on the touchscreen.
Select your stitch and you now have on-screen editing capabilities! The knobs below the screen allow you to adjust the presser foot pressure, 10mm stitch length for basting, and 7mm stitch width on many patterns. The sample stitch on the screen will change in real time with you adjustments.
By tapping the thread tension icon on the screen will take you to the new integrated wheel on the touchscreen that will allow you to change the thread tension. Simply swipe left or right on the screen to turn the wheel and adjust your thread tension. Tap anywhere on the screen to go back to the editing menu.
JUKI Sewing Net
This new, exclusive feature will allow you to access the JUKI website straight from your machine! Projects can be opened and videos can be played. Downloadable instructions can also be opened on the screen. Want to watch a video on Youtube on your machine? Simply touch the Youtube icon on the screen! We have also seen the hour glass icon spinning. With machines that have an automatic presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the FW, therefore we do not see such issues. For right now we can provide this solution. If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the machine cut the thread first before the presser foot is lifted. Lowering and then raising the presser foot bar should release the top tension disks. This may take 2-3 times to release. If the hourglass appears it maybe required to reboot the machine. When an operator selects the auto thread cutter and does not wait until the cutting process is complete, lifts the presser foot by hand or by FHS, there is a sporadic chance the top tension is not releasing. We have also seen the hour glass icon spinning. With machines that have an automatic presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the FW, therefore we do not see such issues. For right now we can provide this solution. If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the machine cut the thread first before the presser foot is lifted. Lowering and then raising the presser foot bar should release the top tension disks. This may take 2-3 times to release. Use an adjustable height ruler foot (non hopping) like Sew Steady has with slots to set the distance between bottom of foot and the needle plate. Low enough to prevent flagging of fabric on the needle and just high enough to allow for fabric movement under the foot without any drag. Three Types of Quilting Foot / Drop Feed
- Three types of quilting feet are supplied as standard accessories with the machine. A 1/5" Quilting Foot is supplied along with a a 1/4" quilting foot and a quilting foot with a front open toe. The feed dog can be raised and lowered simply by depressing a switch. When quilting, the drop feed allows you to sew curved stitches with ease.
Quilting Foot Front Open Toe
- This presser foot for free-motion sewing is open at the front so that the needle area is easy to see. Since the presser foot moves up and down together with the movement of the needle, thick seams can easily be crossed.
1/5" Quilting Foot
- This presser foot is used for free-motion quilting. With the feed dog lowered, you can freely move the fabric to draw using stitching. The distance from the needle entry point to the outer edge of the presser foot is 1/5” (5mm). Since the presser foot moves up and down together with the movement of the needle, thick seams can easily be crossed.
1/4" Quilting Foot
- With a distance of 1/4” (6.5mm) from the needle entry point to the outer edge, this presser foot is perfect for echo quilting, stitching sewn equally spaced using the edge of the presser foot as a guide.
Even Feed Foot
- With its reliable feed, the even feed foot ensures the machine's ability to produce beautiful seams when sewing difficult-to-feed fabrics such as georgette and velvet, as well as heavy weight materials such as leather.
Automatic Thread Trimmer
- The machine is equipped with an automatic thread trimming device that simultaneously cuts the needle and bobbin threads at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push-button. It uses the thread trimming mechanism that is similar to the industrial sewing machine type.
Easy Bobbin Replacement
- Bobbin replacement is a breeze even with the auxiliary table installed, thanks to a large bobbin case opening and a removable plate in the auxiliary table.
Bobbin Winding (Auto-Stop)
- Prepare the bobbin for winding simply by installing it on the bobbin winder. The bobbin stops spinning automatically when it is full.
Automatic Needle Threader
- The push lever automatic needle threader easily threads the needle without eyestrain and allows you to start sewing quickly.
Knee Lifter Lever
- The knee lifter lever allows you to lift / lower the presser foot without using your hands.
Adjustment of Presser Foot Pressure
- Presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the fabric being sewn by turning a regulator located on the top of the machine.
Extended Sewing Area
- The throat size from the needle to inside the machine is 8.5 inches.
LED Sewing Light Brightness Adjustment Switch
- A switch in the needle area allows you to adjust the brightness of the light between high, medium, low, and of. Adjust the brightness to make hard to see seams and stitching areas easier to see.
Attachment Mounting Plate
- A separate attachment mounting plate for installing fabric guides and other attachments. This extends the life of the sewing machine, as it can now be replaced when the mounting holes become damaged.
Float Function (micro-lifter)
- Now equipped with the same mechanism as Juki industrial sewing machines for preventing uneven sewing on quilts as velvet, as well as stretched stitches on knit fabrics. The presser foot floats 0-2 mm above the material, making it useful for stitching over thick seams.

Blind Hemmer Ending Stitch Techniques I show how I now end my blind hemmer stitches. In the past I always used the old technique of raising the needle to its' highest position and releasing the pressure foot and jerking the fabric back quickly to break the thread. This led to size 10 needles skipping stitches sooner than I thought they should. I contacted the mfg of my machine and they told me to use the technique I show in this video.
