Tension Not Releasing
Recently we were made aware of an intermittent issue with top tensions not releasing after a thread cut, thus causing
tension issues and bird nesting.
When an operator selects the auto thread
cutter and does not wait until the cutting
process is complete, lifts the presser foot
by hand or by FHS, there is a sporadic
chance the top tension is not releasing.
We have also seen the hour glass icon
spinning.
With machines that have an automatic
presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the
FW, therefore we do not see such issues.
For right now we can provide this solution.
If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the
machine cut the thread first before the
presser foot is lifted.
Lowering and then raising the presser
foot bar should release the top tension
disks. This may take 2-3 times to release.
If the hourglass appears it maybe required to reboot the machine.

When an operator selects the auto thread cutter and does not wait until the cutting process is complete, lifts the presser foot by hand or by FHS, there is a sporadic chance the top tension is not releasing. We have also seen the hour glass icon spinning. With machines that have an automatic presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the FW, therefore we do not see such issues. For right now we can provide this solution. If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the machine cut the thread first before the presser foot is lifted. Lowering and then raising the presser foot bar should release the top tension disks. This may take 2-3 times to release. beginning of a seam. Threading is semi-automatic, and the thread is automatically cut
when you reach the end of a seam, or when you change colour whilst embroidering
(embroidery module optional). The standard package also features a handy extension
table that makes working on all your sewing projects an absolute breeze.
BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension
The BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension, a BERNINA innovation,
provides ideal thread tension while sewing to achieve perfect stitch
quality on both sides of the fabric. Once the tension is set according
to the thread and fabric used, BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension
will constantly check the thread tension, adjusting it automatically
if needed. The result is the finest stitching without pressing a button.
Embroider beautifully and with ease
The B720 can also embroider; simply switch to embroidery
mode directly via the touchscreen. Embroidery mode lets you
easily position, mirror, rotate and resize motifs. The finished

Both the BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) and the BERNINA Dual Feed come as standard. The BERNINA 720, 740 and 770 QE will double your sewing fun, because the BERNINA stitch regulator, or BSR for short, makes free-motion quilting child’s play. The BSR foot makes each stitch exactly the same length during free-motion sewing, resulting in a neat and even stitch pattern.
After attaching the stitch regulator, you can access configuration options via the display. Novice quilters will appreciate the BSR mode 2, which stops the BERNINA when the fabric is not moved. Letting you work with reassurance and full focus on your sewing piece. All three models offer BSR functionality. Tutorial on the BERNINA 740 and 770 QE: Sewing with Dual Feed.The BERNINA Dual Feed – one of the smartest and most helpful features you’ll find on the BERNINA 740 and 770 QE. In this tutorial we will show you what this clever helper can do. With simultaneous upper and lower fabric feeds, the Dual Feed allows for precise seam tracking and guarantees accurate results, even with multi-layer, extra-thick or difficult to move textiles. The video instruction clearly shows you how to use it during patchwork or quilting work. It also shows how to successfully handle sewing work when accuracy is crucial, for example when you have to handle patterned fabrics. Tension Not Releasing
Recently we were made aware of an intermittent issue with top tensions not releasing after a thread cut, thus causing
tension issues and bird nesting.
When an operator selects the auto thread
cutter and does not wait until the cutting
process is complete, lifts the presser foot
by hand or by FHS, there is a sporadic
chance the top tension is not releasing.
We have also seen the hour glass icon
spinning.
With machines that have an automatic
presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the
FW, therefore we do not see such issues.
For right now we can provide this solution.
If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the
machine cut the thread first before the
presser foot is lifted.
Lowering and then raising the presser
foot bar should release the top tension
disks. This may take 2-3 times to release.
If the hourglass appears it maybe required to reboot the machine.

Technically Speaking: BERNINA 535, 480, 475 Top
Tension Not Releasing
Recently we were made aware of an intermittent issue with top tensions not releasing after a thread cut, thus causing
tension issues and bird nesting.
When an operator selects the auto thread
cutter and does not wait until the cutting
process is complete, lifts the presser foot
by hand or by FHS, there is a sporadic
chance the top tension is not releasing.
We have also seen the hour glass icon
spinning.
With machines that have an automatic
presser foot lifter the timing between cutter and lifter action is governed by the
FW, therefore we do not see such issues.
For right now we can provide this solution.
If such issues appear, please let the consumer know to slow down and let the
machine cut the thread first before the
presser foot is lifted.
Lowering and then raising the presser
foot bar should release the top tension
disks. This may take 2-3 times to release.
If the hourglass appears it maybe required to reboot the machine.

Distortion
The distortion function of the BERNINA 880 enables the customer to distort the stitch patterns in 0.01 mm steps to the right or to the left as well as forward or backward. You can also combine distorted stitch patterns.
