Hand wash in a basin or tub with a mild detergent. Do not agitate or spin in your washing machine.
Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse several times.
Squeeze water out. Rolling in a towel will help to remove excess water.
Dry in a cool or warm dryer or allow to dry flat.
Once quilted Soft and Bright polyester batting can be machine washed again and again without fear of separation or bunching.

Insul - Bright is not recommended for microwave use. Insul
- Bright can be used in clothing but is a little noisy as the film crinkles when moved. This noise is very attractive to both babies and animals, as they like to scrunch it up in soft books and toys.
Pre-Wash & Care Instructions
Note that this step is optional. You will experience no shrinking.
Hand Wash mild detergent. Do not agitate or spin in washer.
Soak for 20 minutes, rinse several times.
Squeeze out water. DO NOT WRING. Rolling in a towel helps.
Dry in a warm dryer or lay flat to air dry.

Warm & Natural is the finest needle-punched cotton batting! Only 15% of all cotton grown in the USA is the proper length, thickness and color. Out of this 15%, only 5% is clean enough for Warm & & Natural! This soft, natural cotton has never been washed or bleached with harsh chemicals. It's kinder to the environment and kinder to your batting. The cotton undergoes a mechanical cleaning process removing all of the seeds, seed coats, along with the majority of leaf and stem remnants. The remaining tiny plant particles lend a special look to crafts like no other and won't harm your quilt. Quilt or tie up to 10" apart! Quilt Warm & Natural right out of the package, as pre-washing is not necessary. Once quilted, machine wash and dry your finished quilt in cold water. 3% shrinkage can be expected in the first wash with cold water. To achieve an antique puckered look use warm water for 5% shrinkage. Warm & Natural won't distort when hanging, hooping or when used in quilt frames. It can be used for both batting and as an exterior craft fabric to create stuffed snowmen and rabbits. 100% cotton fibers are punched with hundreds of needles into a strong, thin base material to prevent tearing, shifting or migration.
The needling process holds the fibers together without glue or resins. The evenly layered fibers stay in place inside your quilt even with generations of washings.
The soft, natural cotton goes through a gentle mechanical cleaning to pick out cotton plant and seed remnants. The tiny plant particles that remain lend a special look to crafts when used as an exterior fabric and will not damage your fabric when used in your quilt. Shrinkage will be about 3% with your first washing. Many quilters prefer not to pre-wash to achieve the unique effect created by the slight shrinkage of the batting when the completed quilt is washed. Please follow these directions if you wish to pre-wash your batt:
Hand wash in a basin or tub with a mild detergent. Do not agitate or spin in your washing machine.
Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse several times.
Squeeze water out. Rolling in a towel will help to remove excess water.
Dry in a cool or warm dryer or allow to dry flat.
Once quilted Warm & Natural cotton batting can be machine washed again and again without fear of separation or bunching.

Scrim is a polyester grid that helps anchor cotton fibers. If you buy batting that says it's 97% cotton, it's because they've added the grid to stabilize the cotton fibers. It helps keep the cotton fibers from separating when the quilt is washed. When you use 100% cotton batting, you need the quilting stitches close together to keep the batting from separating. With scrim added to the cotton batting you can use wider spacing between your quilting stitches because the scrim will keep the fibers stable. Christine, Quilting Board
A lot of cotton batts are needlepunched through scrim now. Makes the cotton much more stable, can quilt lines further apart, etc. Scrim can make handquilting more difficult, but is fine for machine quilting. In general, you want the scrim side touching the backing of the quilt so when you machine quilt, the needle is punching the batting in the same direction as in the factory. (That's if you can tell which side has the scrim. Warm and Natural describes how to tell which side theirs is, but I don't know about other manufacturers.) Incidentally, not all batts that are needlepunched are needlepunched through scrim. I am often complimented on the professional appearance of my bags and purses. Though I'd love to say that they look good because I'm such an excellent seamstress, I really can't take all the credit. Using the proper tools and supplies makes all the difference between a project that looks store-bought and professional versus one that looks homemade.
ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is by far the most important element used in any of my purses, bags, or other projects. Using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® in place of batting or other fusible interfacings gives my project a firm foundation. The bag isn't slouchy or wrinkly. Yet, because ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is so lightweight, the purse (when it's empty anyway!) weighs hardly anything.
I love using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® in handles, too— that soft, cushiony feeling is so nice for shoulder straps or handles.
The other advantage to using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is that I do not have to quilt the fabric to the batting/foundation unless I want to. I often choose to quilt the fabric to add a decorative element to the finished piece, but it is not an absolute necessity.
For instance, when I designed the Serenity Shoulder Bag , I wanted all of the focus to be on the texturized flap. Had I used batting in the bag, I'd have had to quilt the fabric in the body of the bag. Not only would those quilting lines detract from the finished appearance of the bag, but the bag would be slouchy when put together.
With ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®, I am able to attach the fabric pieces used for the body of the bag to the ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® by sewing just around the edges. No quilting lines! When I'm done, my bag stands up beautifully, supporting that gorgeous textured flap.
That extra support is especially nice when you are using wooden fashion handles, such as I used on the On the Town 2.0 handbag . Even though I've attached some relatively heavy handles, the bag holds it shape and stands up beautifully.
If I do choose to quilt the fabric to ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®, that's easy, too. I just layer the lining fabric (face down), the ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®, and the main fabric (face up). Pin the layers and you're ready to stitch. The slight texture of the fabric finish on the Soft and Stable® slightly grabs the fabric pieces, so there is little shifting of layers as you sew.
Sometimes, I skip the fabric layer on the bottom and just sew the main fabric to the ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®. Again, because ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® has fabric on BOTH sides, I don't have to worry about the foam catching on my feed dogs. Everything moves easily through the machine.
In addition to using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®, there are several tools that make all the difference in making a professional-looking project easily:
I wouldn't be without my trusty stiletto or wooden pressing tool when it comes to making any kind of purse, bag, garment, home dec project, or quilt. Anytime I am attaching a binding, I depend on my stiletto to hold things in place. The pressing tool will press seams quicker than running to the ironing board and its point turns out corners perfectly every time.
Many of my patterns require you to draw lines on the project pieces to aid in aligning handles, borders, pockets, and so forth. I love using the Clover Chaco Liner Pen Style chalk markers for marking these lines. They are quick and easy to use and, best of all, they are very temporary. Usually all I need to remove the line is the air created by the movement of the needle in and out of the fabric as I sew. The line is so easy to see, but it disappears as I sew! How easy is that?

The pressing tool will press seams quicker than running to the ironing board and its point turns out corners perfectly every time.
Many of my patterns require you to draw lines on the project pieces to aid in aligning handles, borders, pockets, and so forth. I love using the Clover Chaco Liner Pen Style chalk markers for marking these lines. They are quick and easy to use and, best of all, they are very temporary. Usually all I need to remove the line is the air created by the movement of the needle in and out of the fabric as I sew. The line is so easy to see, but it disappears as I sew! How easy is that?

ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is by far the most important element used in any of my purses, bags, or other projects. Using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® in place of batting or other fusible interfacings gives my project a firm foundation. The bag isn't slouchy or wrinkly. Yet, because ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is so lightweight, the purse (when it's empty anyway!) weighs hardly anything.
I love using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® in handles, too— that soft, cushiony feeling is so nice for shoulder straps or handles.
The other advantage to using ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® is that I do not have to quilt the fabric to the batting/foundation unless I want to. I often choose to quilt the fabric to add a decorative element to the finished piece, but it is not an absolute necessity.
For instance, when I designed the Serenity Shoulder Bag , I wanted all of the focus to be on the texturized flap. Had I used batting in the bag, I'd have had to quilt the fabric in the body of the bag. Not only would those quilting lines detract from the finished appearance of the bag, but the bag would be slouchy when put together.
With ByAnnie's Soft and Stable®, I am able to attach the fabric pieces used for the body of the bag to the ByAnnie's Soft and Stable® by sewing just around the edges. No quilting lines! When I'm done, my bag stands up beautifully, supporting that gorgeous textured flap.
That extra support is especially nice when you are using wooden fashion handles, such as I used on the On the Town 2.0 handbag . Even though I've attached some relatively heavy handles, the bag holds it shape and stands up beautifully.

Among many applications,the cloth woven of SOLVRON has already established a predominant position as an ideal Base-Cloth for guipure embroidery,replacing the hitherto used silk cloth or some man-made fibers which are dissolvable only by the chemical agents. The following is the features of SOLVRON ground cloth in this particular field:- On SOLVRON cloth,any type of embroidering thread,natural,man-made,in any color combination,may safely be used,since the cloth dissolves away easily by plain hot water.
- Treatments by caustic soda solution or by some other chemicals,which are necessary for dissolving silk cloth,etc., frequency cause discoloration or weakening of the embroidery.SOLVRON cloth,because of its dissolving by plain hot water alone,positivery safeguards the embroidery from these risks.
- SOLVRON cloth allows exquisite stitching works,and,once fixed on the Schiffli machine-frame,upholds an equal tension and tightness throughout the stitching process.
Dissolving Process for Solvron Fabric
- Before starting the work of dissolving, it is recommended to wash away Tinting agents, Kiton dyesturff in water, which are used for the purpose of distinguishing SOLVRON from other fabrics and of easily finding out of the deffect of embroidery-stitchings.
- Heat up the water at first upto the needed temperature, and then, dip the embroidered base cloth itself sufficiently, so that the base cloth may dissolve rappidly.
- Change the water and then also stir the water and cloth. Continual over flowing of hot water is desired.
Note: The hot water should be sufficient enough to facilitate prompt dissolution and also to allow free moving of the cloth, and even to prevent saturation. Effective bath-ratio of loomstate and water is over 1:30 weightwise. Dissolving time differs upon the type of Solvron used, dissolving device, stitching number of embroidering.
