Ebrahim Pairavi, a Persian immigrant, established Shannon Fabrics in 1995. He grew up around his father’s fabric business in Iran. In 1988, Ebrahim immigrated to California with his wife, Ziba, and sons, Edwin and Arvin. Shortly after arriving in the United States, his daughter Amy Shannon was born. Ebrahim engaged in the fabric business again and ultimately started Shannon Fabrics, which is named after his daughter. In 1999, after the stock market crash, Ebrahim faced the greatest financial test of his life. Soon after his son Arvin joined the business to help his family and in July 2000 they opened a new retail store in Los Angeles. Seeing a bigger opportunity in the wholesale business, together they shifted the direction of the company from retail to wholesale in the following 3 years and slowly gained market share. Today Shannon Fabrics is the premier destination for all types of plush fabrics and is Making The World a Softer Place™. Shannon Fabrics has earned the trust of its customers, suppliers and other industry leaders. The company imports and distributes many types of fabrics including super soft Cuddle fabrics, fabulous faux furs, Embrace double gauze, terry cloth, silky satin and other novelty fabrics. Shannon Fabrics takes pride in being an innovative and creative market leader. In addition to licensing agreement with Robert Kaufman, Premier Prints and other industry leaders, the company works with independent and in-house designers to develop and create some of the best fabric collections available in the industry.
