SINGER TECHNICAL SERVICE NOTICE:

Please note that effective immediately, our LaVergne, Tennessee service facility will
no longer accept SINGER XL-1000, XL-5000, or XL-6000 sewing and embroidery
machines for service.

Should you need to have one of these models repaired in the future, please contact the

I bought this machine new in 2002. I found it very easy to use, the instruction booklet was easy to follow, and very quickly I was able to do many embroidery projects. I also was satisfied with the machine for dressmaking, repairs etc. There are many different stitches available, alphabets and cute little teddy bear type things to have fun with. l bought additional embroidery design cards , but thought that the choice at the time was fairly limited. It is possible to "multihoop" on this machine giving the possibility to make bigger embroidery projects. On the down side, I bought the software conversion box PSW which I couldn't get to work at all on my computer,maybe I'm just a bit "technology slow". Anyway its a good machine and has always given me pleasure to sew on it. I'm going to change it now, after 14 years, because I would like to do more soft furnishing work, and the quantum has trouble with the layers of thicker upholstery fabric, of course this is not what the machine was built to do. To recap; a very good machine for someone wanting to begin embroidery or do some nifty dressmaking, as it's really very simple to use, and you can have a lot of fun with it.
